Men of God...

The church of Jesus Christ has always had teachers of sound doctrine, men who would share the Word of God and its truths with the faithful.

"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." -II Timothy 2:2

Every one of the men of God presented here for your learning and growth knew the fundamental truths of the gospel and salvation. Not one would spout the heresy that they had been saved by their own "free-will" decision to receive Christ. They all knew:

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:12,13

"What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?" - Romans 9:14-21

Not one gave an altar call, but all of them pointed men to call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. (Romans 10: 13) These men knew that salvation was of the Lord and all glory should be given unto Him. There is not one Arminian or crypto-Roman Catholic among them.

With these fundamental truths of the doctrine of election in mind, my prayer is that you will be blessed by the sound teachings of these men-teachings which are in such short supply in today's age of apostasy and purpose-driven lies. - Joe Pavone
